Public Relations Portfolio for Castlepoint Shopping Centre
Aylesworth Fleming’s public relations team were asked to assist the developers of the Castlepoint Shopping Centre (formerly the Hampshire Centre). Outline planning permission had already been granted some years previously but now the detailed proposals were ready for consideration by the general public, the planning committee, officers and full council.
An exhibition unit was set up in the Hampshire Centre, staffed by Aylesworth Fleming’s public relations team, which contained a model, detailed research analysis and working drawings. The unit was open on some afternoons, evenings and Saturday mornings, over a 3 month period, to allow visitors ample opportunity to view the project and allow for comments they wished to make to the council before a vote was taken.
Many hundreds of people attended the exhibition, including council members and planning permission was granted by an overwhelming majority.
